The power steering pump is the power source of the hydraulic power steering system. It uses the engine as the transmission medium to convert mechanical energy into hydraulic energy. The steering gear converts hydraulic energy into mechanical energy through the hydraulic oil output by the oil pump, thereby reducing the driver's operating intensity and improving mobility of the vehicle.
The cause of the abnormal noise of the steering pump
If the steering pump is humming, it's most likely a friction noise caused by a lack of internal oil. You need to check the boost oil level in the reservoir bottle. If it is below the minimum mark, it needs to be replenished until the liquid level reaches the maximum mark.
It should be noted that steering oil contains carcinogens. If it really gets on the skin, be sure to rinse it off with water in time. Secondly, the booster oil is corrosive to a certain extent, and it needs to be cleaned in time when it is splashed on the car paint or some rubber parts.
There is a humming noise in the car, it may be a problem with the steering pump. Abnormal noise is generally caused by insufficient power booster oil. At this time, we need to add power booster oil to the steering system. Of course, if there is no hum, then it is possible that the parts are old and need to be replaced.
